Course Description: In this hands-on, two-day WordPress website training course, you will learn the skills, tools, and knowledge on how to use WordPress, how to create a website using WordPress, and how to maintain a WordPress site. This WordPress for beginners course teaches you how to install and configure WordPress, and how to troubleshoot WordPress, in case of problems. The topics covered in this course include understanding the foundation of WordPress with domains and hosts, learning more about WordPress hosting and what a CMS is, installing WordPress on your server, setting up a local WordPress development environment, becoming more familiar with the WordPress dashboard, organizing the content on your blog, managing users and permissions, finding and using plugins, learning about themes, and maintaining WordPress.
Prerequisites: Students must have a good working knowledge of computers, operating systems, using a mouse, keyboard, standard menus and commands. Students must be able to open, save, and close applications, files, as well as navigate to other folders.
Required Technical Set-Up:
• Primary computer connected to a second monitor OR second computer to view instructor live
• Reliable High-speed internet connection
• Web Browser: Google Chrome Preferred (Alternative: Microsoft Edge)
• 3-Button Computer mouse
• Audio Speaker/Microphone (built-in to computer or external)
